Notable Changes from the Previous Year
Most changes on the Ram 1500 regard the flagship TRX trim. It comes with new available exterior colours (night edge blue, delmonico red, and harvest sunrise), a TRX logo embroidered on the seats, and patina stitching on the seats and dashboard. It also has a trim-exclusive bed decal and a 6.2-litre hood badge in satin titanium.
Performance Specs
There are three engines available in this lineup. The entry-level 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine is equipped with eTorque, delivering a torque capacity of 269 lb-ft and 305 horsepower. Plus, the eTorque feature can add up to 90 lb-ft in launch torque. The 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine has 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque capacity. It also has eTorque that delivers up to 130 lb-ft of supplemental torque. For the flagship TRX trim, the 6.2-litre Supercharged HEMI delivers 702 horsepower and a torque capacity of 650 lb-ft.
Design Elements
Interior fabric options include vinyl, cloth, and leather, depending on the trim. Base models have a standard air conditioner, while the Sport and higher trims have a dual-zone automatic temperature control system. The Tradesman has black vinyl floor coverings, while the rest of the lineup has standard floor carpet coverings.
Standard wheels range between 18-inch and 20-inch and come in aluminum, polished aluminum, or steel. The Tradesman and Big Horn trims come with automatic quad-halogen headlamps, while the other trims use LED headlamps. The TRX has intelligent headlamps equipped with an adaptive forward light with a Bi-LED smart beam.
Technology and Safety Features
You’ll find a 5-inch touchscreen display with Uconnect 3 in the Tradesman and Big Horn trims, while the rest of the lineup come with a 12-inch touchscreen display and Uconnect 5 NAV. Vehicle information displays range between 3.5 inches and 12 inches, depending on the model. There’s also a standard 115-volt power outlet for the Sport and higher trims.
All models are equipped with airbags, tire pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, and electric park brakes. The Park-Sense system and security alarms are available on Limited Longhorn and upper models, while the Sport and upper models have a forward collision warning with active braking.
