Notable Changes from the Previous Year
Available trims have been further rationalised in the 2023 Ram 1500 Classic lineup. The mid-range Express model has been discontinued with no Regular Cab Short Bed, and the RamBox bed-storage option is also no longer available. These changes have led to an increase in the base price.
Infotainment and Technology Features
The standard infotainment system is a 5-inch touchscreen display with a Uconnect 3 multimedia centre. It supports SiriusXM, 3D navigation, Apple CarPlay,Android Auto, and audio streaming. Another 3.5-inch electronic vehicle information display is also available, or you can upgrade to an optional 7-inch model. It gives access to vehicle stats, including engine performance, navigation and tire pressure.
Exterior Design
The massive black grille with a black insert and automatic quad halogen lights introduce the bold design of the 1500 Classic. Other features include power-heated mirrors and black front/rear bumpers. Standard wheels are 17-inch lightweight steel with an option for 17-inch aluminium wheels and 20-inch gloss black aluminium.
Interior Comfort and Cargo Space
You will find a spacious interior with functional cubby storage and easy-to-use controls in the cabin. Standard features include a black vinyl floor covering, 12-volt auxiliary power outlet and air conditioning. The Warlock trim gets additional features standard, including a passenger-side sun visor, overhead console and remote USB port for charging.
Engine and Performance Features
A 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 with VVT is standard on all models. The engine provides 305 hp and 269 ft-lb of torque with a combined fuel economy rating of 11.7 L/100km. You can also choose the optional 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine with a massive 395 hp and 410 ft-lb of torque; it comes with a combined fuel efficiency of 13.8 L/100km.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
With state-of-the-art features, the 1500 Classic protects passengers and drivers from the inside out. The electronic stability control system provides a balanced and comfortable ride on bumpy roads, while the trailer brake control optimises stability when breaking. Other features include a rear parking assist system, antilock disc brakes and locking tailgate.
